Norcross hosted the grand opening of the Discovery Garden Park on October 22, and Norcross II Girl Scout Troops were there to help. Troops 229 and 3024 helped the sponsoring Troop 4488 at the registration table and throughout the day.
Children were invited to wear a costume or fairy wings, and activities included dancing with a flute-playing fairy, storytelling, crafts, and mapping out a nature trail scouting for fairy and gnome houses.
Discovery Garden Park will serve as a nature center, community garden and neighborhood gathering place. The Discovery Garden Park features an outdoor classroom pavilion, a grilling station, native plant collections, a pollinator garden, a children’s garden and an organic community garden.
It's great to see our Girl Scouts working with the community!
